Meet Our Residents

Ron
Every sanctuary needs a little spice, and Ron brings it in spades. This super-senior Chihuahua may be small in size, but he has the presence (and opinions!) of a much larger creature. Cantankerous? Absolutely. Endearing? Completely.
Ron is also the only dog on the planet who has suspicious feelings about Wendy — which frankly might be his proudest accomplishment. Everyone else? He’ll tolerate you on his own terms, preferably from a soft bed where he can supervise without being bothered. He may grumble, but he’s secretly lovely, with those quiet moments of sweetness that feel like rare treasures.
He’s missing a portion of his lower jaw due to past dental neglect, which only adds to his perfectly imperfect charm.

Pony
Pony came to us as a wandering stray in Utah—emaciated, fragile, and hovering dangerously close to losing her spark.
After nearly doubling her weight and undergoing successful cataract surgery, Pony didn’t just recover—she reclaimed herself. And when our beloved Nola passed, this tiny, bossy survivor quietly (and then not so quietly) stepped into the role of pack leader. No votes were taken. Pony simply decided.
She is unapologetically high maintenance, which is exactly what makes her so endearing. Pony does not ask for what she wants—she demands it. Meals must be timely. Comfort must be optimal. And Wendy’s breakfast is a non-negotiable daily ritual. IVDD may slow her body, but it does not dull her determination; Pony will do absolutely anything to make sure she doesn’t miss her spot at the table.
